Holy Week 

One last reminder of the events of Holy Week.  I especially recommend the Journey to the Cross and our Holy Thursday Worship!  

·     Thursday, April 18 – Journey to the Cross: A Walk-thru Easter Experience Drop in any time between 12-6pm to experience the sights of Holy Week

·     Thursday, April 18 – Holy Thursday Worship at 6pm (Including Foot Washing) 

·     Friday, April 19 (Summerhill Campus) – Good Friday Worship with District Churches at 12pm

·     Sunday, April 21 – Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30am

·     Sunday, April 21 – Easter Worship: 8am, 9:30am and 11am

Read: Luke 19:41-20:19

Questions to Consider:

1.     Have you ever had a time in your life when you have been warned not to do something but you kept on doing it?  

2.    Have you ever struggled with the authority of Jesus in your life?  

3.    Where do you have to give up control and let Jesus take control?  

Activity for the Day: Review your journal from the past weeks.  What aha moments do you find?

Experts

We are now walking with Jesus through the days of interrogation. Just as the lambs that came into Jerusalem through the Sheep’s Gate would spend four days being examined before being slain, so too is Jesus, The Lamb of God, going through the process of examination by the religious “experts.” As you read the scripture today and watch the video think about the places that attacks come into your life and watch how Jesus responded to the questions of the “experts.”

Read: Luke 20:20-47

Questions to Consider:

1.     The leaders were obsessed with trying to find Jesus guilty of something so they could have him arrested. What did they do to try to trap him?

2.    How did Jesus deal with the “Experts” that came to trap him? 

3.    When the “experts” or traps of life come in and try to take you away from your discipleship journey, what can you do to fight off their attacks? 

Activity for the Day: As we come to a close in this time of Lent you are invited to pray for those who have participated alongside you in this study. Praise God for their participation and pray that God has richly blessed them through their study.
