Introduction to Ruth
It is Monday and we are starting our next book! What a wonderful way to begin this week!
Check out this pageon the Bible Project website and watch the video about the Book of Ruth. It will give you some great background to get started.
Questions to Consider:
1. Have you suffered? Have you had those moments in your life when “they all broke down and wept”?
2. Why is it important to have faith in these moments of suffering? Why is it important to have someone to cling to in these time?
Activity for the Day: In Verse 8-10 it says, “8 But on the way, Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back to your mothers’ homes. And may the Lord reward you for your kindness to your husbands and to me. 9 May the Lord bless you with the security of another marriage.” Then she kissed them good-bye, and they all broke down and wept.
10 “No,” they said. “We want to go with you to your people.”
Think about this scripture and then think about your own life. Has there been a time in your life when you have suffered and tried to send people away but they stayed instead and ended up blessing you? Write your thoughts in your journal.
